June 6-12 marks the ninth annual National Tire Safety Week, a consumer education program of the Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA).
Pep Boys proudly partners with the RMA for this event to ensure our customers and motorists in general are aware of the importance of tire safety.
Did you know that, each year, underinflated tires are responsible for 660 fatalities and 33,000 injuries*?
To see how drivers across the nation measured up when it came to maintaining the proper tire pressure, the RMA conducted a random survey that recorded the tire pressure of more than 6,300 vehicles across the U.S.
The good news is that it only takes five minutes to check your vehicles tire pressure and tread depth every month, and it is easy to do. Check out the National Tire Safety Week brochures below for tips on these and other tire safety topics. Safe driving also means savings - properly inflated tires can save you up to nine cents a gallon at the gas pump according to the U.S. Department of Energy.
Stop by any Pep Boys location during National Tire Safety week or any other day of the year to inquire about tire safety. We have experts on hand to answer any of your questions.
If you are unsure about the condition of your tires and want a professional to check your tire pressure and tread, Pep Boys also offers free tire pressure checks year-round.
