Automotive Master Technician Receives Prestigious National Award

Pep Boys’ Robert ‘DeAngelo‘ Armstead Named 2021 ASE Master Automobile Technician of the Year

Pep Boys, a national leading automotive service network, is proud to announce that Master Technician Robert ‘DeAngelo‘ Armstead of Marietta, Georgia, has been recognized by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) with a national achievement award. He has been named as the Pep Boys/ASE Master Automobile Technician of the Year. Armstead was one of 48 automotive professionals recognized in a ceremony in late 2021 at the Fall Board of Governors meeting of the ASE held in Scottsdale, Arizona.

The annual award is presented to ASE Certified automotive technicians who receive top scores on certification tests and demonstrate the highest level of productivity, commitment to community and overall excellence. Armstead is a Master Automobile Technician in Austell, Georgia. With more than a decade of Service to Pep Boys, he is widely recognized for his outstanding work ethic and dedication to customers and fellow peers, helping to mentor new technicians.

“I’m so thankful to ASE and Pep Boys and incredibly honored for the recognition. My advice to other technicians is to continue to work hard and focus on the customer,” said Armstead. “Our profession is part of the backbone of the nation – nothing can be accomplished without a strong transportation sector.
