Pep Boys Brings the Racetrack to NHRA Fans with Epic Mobile Activation

Racing fans… get ready and buckle up because Pep Boys, the Official Auto Service Partner of the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA), is bringing the excitement of the racetrack to the midway with its epic Mobile Activation area experience!

The event kicked off Friday with Pep Boys CEO Brian Kaner, presenting at the NHRA Youth and Education Services (YES) Program. The program, which brings in students from technical schools and connect them with leaders across the automotive space, is a prime example of Pep Boys’ commitment to help close the nation’s skills gap in the industry through community education, partnerships and technology training.

Pep Boys’ activation area features hands-on activities and educational insights for racing fans, giving them a taste of the action. These Pep Boys-exclusive activities will be available at many NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series races throughout the 2022 season.

Fans can put their automotive know-how to the test with tire changes and Pennzoil oil change challenges. A fully equipped NASCAR pit crew can change every tire on a racecar in less than 20 seconds—do you think you have what it takes?

A twist on traditional caricatures, an artist is onsite to create eco-friendly caricature portraits using recycled Pennzoil products instead of ink. This one-of-a-kind keepsake will keep the NHRA magic alive well after the race is over.


Racing fans can experience Pep Boys’ latest automotive service technology through interactive displays. From automotive diagnostics to the future of electric vehicles, fans can learn the ins-and-outs of the auto industry. If that’s not enough, the Mobile Activation includes remote control drag racing as well as an exclusive photo opportunity with an NHRA replica trophy!
